Homeschooling the ADD parent
I am hoping a title like homeschooling the ADD parent will attract some attention. I've been homeschooling for well over 10 years and I have seen a lot of books on how to homeschool the ADD child, or the special needs child, or the gifted child, etc. But I have never seen a book on how to homeschool when the parent is the one with the A.D.D. I am one of those parents. I have three children who are now in 12th, 10th, and 8th grades, and I have been homeschooling them throughout their academic life. How have I done it , having A.D.D.? Well, I can start by telling you it hasn't been easy. It's been a challenge. So what I'd like to do through this blog (by the way, this is the first time I have ever blogged. I hope I stick to it ) is share things that have worked for me, things that haven't. I'll be honest and will publicly blog all my faults, in the hopes that my mistakes can help others. I will surely be adding humor to my blog, because I love laughing at myself, and try not to take my flaws to seriously. In case your wondering how my kids do academically, despite my ADD - they always score above grade level. This blog is not to brag about my kids, but to let you know that it can be done - or like we say in Spanish: "Si se puede!" So please feel free to comment, I'd love to hear from you, encourage you, be a shoulder to cry on and give you a virtual hug. You can do it. Don't give up. Believe me , if I can do it - anyone can do it. LIZ
